Andrea F. Wood was born in England and spent her teen years in Idaho studying music, art, and writing. She moved to Hawaii in 1994 as a chaperone and pursued commercial art at Brigham Young University-Hawaii. In 1995, she relocated to New York to study art at Pratt Institute and graduated in May 1998 with a degree in Illustration. While in school, she began work in computer graphics and special effects, freelancing for various postproduction houses. In 1998 she joined the graphics department at ABC television and worked for them for 3 years on a freelance basis.

Ms. Wood began studying taekwondo in 1999 at West Side Taekwondo and has been working at Harlem Tae Kwon Do since its inception. She received her First Degree Black Belt from Harlem Taekwondo in December 2003. Ms. Wood is currently the Information Systems Analyst for the Emergency Department of St. Luke's and Roosevelt Hospital Center and designs the literature and website for Harlem Tae Kwon Do. She has two children, Lamine born in 2005 and Haroun born in 2008.
